JPG Magazine

It’s interesting that the things I like find me :) Got a visit from some people at JPG Magazine, and a lesson in what their website and magazine are all about. First impression: Very cool.
Why? Well, as far as I know, they are the only magazine this month to feature Wayne Coyne on the cover =D OK.. being serious. ALL of the photos in every issue (18 to date) are from the READERS.
How do they do that? Well, quite simple. Just head over to JPGmag.com and sign up for a free account. Then, submit one (only one!) photo for any of the three “Themes” for the next publishing. After that, community members will vote for your image (or not). Total democracy - the most votes means that an image gets into the magazine. The people speak! And they are published. How exciting. No editorial staff involved - it’s all community-approved. What a bold model.
So, just to test the water (you know me…) I signed up earlier this week. Lo and behold, one of my favorite themes, “Nighttime”. Yes! I have just the shot:
So if you Dig, then dig it - meaning you can Digg it, or go over to JPG, join the fun and perhaps give me a vote. Only 19 days left until voting on the next issue closes…
