Music from the Vault: Leslie Song
Posted on | September 7, 2008 |

Above photos are from Rosemont, IL when we discovered the Hala Kahiki, one of the oldest existing, non-renovated Tiki Bars in America. Reminds me that I have audio of those sessions with DJ, Dre and I… Hmmm. This was right after I got my Voigtlander Bessa-R and 35mm f/1.7. Love that lens and camera.
For this song, Dre was in contact with this gal whom he’d met teaching a seminar (or something… I forget the exact details). Anyway, we borrowed the opening lines from her blog and wrote the choruses ourselves.
He sent the song to her, and received silence in return. LOL.
I was standin’ ouside
The five and dime
hummin’ the lines
from Nine to FiveFelt so good
To be alive
Sportin’ Cavaricci’s
And throwin’ down rhymes!Press on (and she wore)

I am so pround of this chorus. Wow.
