I am so delighted to hear Americana music making a solid comeback over the last decade. Gillian Welch, the Bowerbirds, Peter & the Wolf, Mamie Minch and so many more all echo simplicity in instrumentation, clarity in melody and hauntings of the past in modern writing.

This morning, dropped by La Blogotheque (and I am doing more frequently these days) and tried out Moriarty. Rosemary sings sometimes like a dustbowl farmer’s wife, sometimes like Broadway stage and at other times like an opera singer. What pipes… And having these shows in a church certainly lends drama. Enjoy. I posted all below. The Depeche Mode cover gave me chills.
